Country Farmhouse Kid's Bathroom Reveal

Country Farmhouse Kid's and Guest Bathroom

Today I would like to show you where we spend a lot of our evenings, in the kid’s (guest) bathroom. A lot of laughing and splashing happens in the 4 foot clawfoot tub when my children take it over at night. This charming yet small bathroom features high tin ceilings, custom cabinets, vintage children’s book turned artwork, clawfoot tub, bright accessories, oil rubbed bronze light fixtures, and classic hexagonal black and white tile.

Since this space also acts as the guest bathroom, I didn’t want to go overboard with a kid theme but I wanted to add a playful touch to it. So I used the red kid stools from the kid’s craft area as my starting point since they use the stools in the bathroom. And when I spotted the vintage children’s book nursery rhyme prints turned art at Round Top, I knew I had to add yellow to the space as well. My children love looking at the colored art pieces, and ask me to read them as they wash their hands or take a bath.

As with the master bathroom and the kitchen, we brought Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore into this room to keep consistency throughout the house.

This charming, 4 foot claw foot tub is original to the house, and it is perfect for the small space. Like in the master bathroom, the outside of the tub was painted to match the walls.

This small space yearned for a small silhouette with the pedestal sink and freestanding mirror/medicine cabinet.

The cage light on top of the vanity adds a fun industrial twist to the classic space.

As with any old farmhouse, this space originally lacked storage. So the cabinets were custom built onto the wall by a local carpenter (the same one who retrofitted the vanity in the master bathroom) to maximize the space by using the height of the room. They provide enough storage to house towels, toiletries, and medicine (out of small hands).

The beautiful chandelier orb adds another fun touch of whimsy and plays nicely off the gorgeous tin ceiling painted white.

Even though this space is small it brings plenty of charm, especially in the details. Crystal knobs were added to the cabinets, as well as white cast iron vents and decorated cast iron door bolts were added to elevate the bathroom.
