Spring makes me so happy! The colorful floral inspiration is what I live for here at Country Peony. So when I was planning for the Spring mantel decoration here at the studio, I knew I wanted to include a lot of color, whimsy, and florals. Today I want to show you my Spring mantel decor, and how I transformed the mantel in less than 5 minutes.

Please enjoy this video showcasing how I transformed my mantel for Spring!

Before we start, I have curated all of the pieces from my Spring and Easter mantel below:

How to Decorate a Mantel for Spring

Here are some of my favorite tips that I used while styling my mantel for Spring and Easter.

  • Choose an Inspiration Piece.

    • Before I start any project (whether that is a home decor or crafting project), I like to start with the color palette. For this Spring mantel, I was inspired by one of my favorite prints from Lindsay Letters: Milkglass Floral. I love the whimsical florals and cheerful color palette. Based on these colors, I knew I wanted to go rainbow themed.

  • Style the Mantel with Complimentary Pieces.

    • Once you find your inspiration piece, then decide on complimentary pieces that will add to it. Whether those are handmade, store bought, or recycled from around your home, have fun with the placement and don’t overthink it.

    • For my Spring Mantel, I was inspired by this wreath and this garland that I found at Wal Mart. I knew they would be perfect on my Spring mantel. I didn’t want to remove my favorite Lindsay Letters print, so I used fishing string and attached it to the back of the print with gaffer tape . This allows the wreath to hang in front of the picture without damaging it.

  • Style the Mantel in Groups of 3.

    • To style the actual mantel, I like to work in groups of 3 to keep the eye moving. For my mantel, I chose this very popular flocked bunny that I found at Wal Mart. I love the whimsical element that it brings to the mantel.

    • Then to add a vintage flair, I paired my favorite vintage milkglass candlesticks with pink candles.

  • Add a bit of Whimsy!

    • I always think it is so fun to add an unexpected twist of whimsy to your space. One of my favorite ways to do that is through the use of disco balls. Disco balls are true magic as they sparkle throughout the day, and they bring so much joy to any space!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to add some fun color to your decor this Spring!
