Introducing the Country Peony Studio

The Hope

My childhood dreams are coming true! Country Peony is getting a studio. I’ve outgrown the corner of my bedroom and I’m so excited to turn this incredibly charming old grocery store into the Country Peony headquarters where I can dream and create.

Even though we are in the very early stages of this renovation, I am so excited to make this building beautiful again! Follow along for the transformation!

Backstory:

Many years ago, my in-laws acquired a piece of property with an old building that was an old grocery store. AJ Cernosek Grocery shut it doors in Ammansville, Texas in 1965, but for over 20 years it had been a meeting place full of wonderful baked goods, produce, farm goods, and a meat market: Eugene’s Meat Market.

Our goal is to create a new space nearby in Ammansville, Texas and use the wood from the original store to bring the bones of this beautiful building back to life.

As Country Peony continues to expand its offerings with the vintage store, Country Peony Vintage, and all that comes with crafting and creating blog and video content, I have outgrown my current corner of my bedroom.

So, my hope for the Craft Studio is to create a space where I can dream, create, and document some really fun DIYs, vintage items, and my handcrafted goods. One day, I would also love to offer workshops featuring local creatives to educate and inspire people to create.

The Look

Space: The Country Peony Studio will consist of 1400 square feet of space. 1200 square feet dedicated to creating, and 200 square feet for storage and a charming restroom.

Design: Much like my crafting and DIY projects, the aesthetic of Country Peony will carry through to the studio. An open floorplan with a beautiful vaulted ceiling and crisp white walls will be the backdrop for the vintage pieces that will tell the story of the original building’s past all while bringing in some beautiful charm. The space will be a fresh source of inspiration full of light and bright colors, including, but not limited to: blush pink, mint green, lilac, brass, and beautiful wood tones! With feminine florals around every corner to continue to spark inspiration!
